Redesigning the baggage reclaim-area
Vanderlande
A lot of potential is wasted in the design of many reclaim areas. For travellers, waiting a long time for your bag could result in a bad travel experience. For airlines, bad experiences in the baggage reclaim area affect their customer satisfaction ratings. And airports have to sacrifice tons of space on conveyer belts, that could otherwise be used for retail.
Vanderlande is one of the biggest baggage-handling system companies in the world. They wanted to propose a new baggage reclaim area for airports, improving the user experience of travellers.
The Pick & Go system consists of local pickup points for baggage strategically placed around the airport. This way, travellers can first be reunited with friends and family before picking up their baggage. Big reclaim halls can be used for retail space, and people can travel faster and be more efficient.
